Mail a cassette tape or CD with a rough cut. Sing or hum... or strum...or plunk...whatever you can do to get the melody and phrasing out of your head and conveyed to us in some way. It doesn't have to be perfect!
If it is a poem, just read the poem. In some cases, original poetry readings may be used in the final CD. So keep background noise to a minimum unless it is part of your expression.

Just open your heart & let the words flow. It doesn't have to be perfect or eloquent...it just has to be real. Sometimes it is the simplest truth that resonates the most with people. When you write or think or speak something real you can feel it inside you.
This CD will focus on the experiences of the family, but please know that Soldiers are included in that as long as the focus is not "over there," but rather "here at home." The lyrics need to focus on the day to day challenges of the family life back home or on how the family back home directly effects the soldier.
* We understand that many people have friends and loved ones in the service who may not be of blood relation. If you fit into this unique category, you are welcome to submit a song or poem for possible consideration, but please be aware that your legitimate connection to an Armed Service member will be verified and considered before possible acceptance into the final 20.
