Literally Changing the "Unsung Part".
CD Mission statement
To create a high quality, commercial grade, two CD project, one of songs, one of poetry written by military families, to be distributed worldwide.
This is not a vanity or a profit driven CD project. The CD is meant to be a tribute to the families of our Armed Forces and a communication tool for reaching out to the civilian community.
A compilation of our Military's stories, in their own words.
The songs & poems gathered from this project are not being solicited from professional writers*, but from people who have a story to tell.
(*Note: Professional musicians with legitimate, confirmed military ties are not excluded because of there professional status.)
"The CD project has three major guidelines:
To provide military families a creative and therapeutic outlet for expressing the impact deployments have had on their family.
To organize these expressions into a format that not only unifies and supports the military families experiencing them, but also aids in bridging the gap between the civilian and military perspectives of this war.
To do so in a manner consistent with the heart of this project by allowing money made on such expressions to be fed back into military family support programs.
What is "Bridging the Gap"
People throughout our country's history have made many sacrifices for our countries freedom. These sacrifices helped instill a pride and ownership in our great nation.
In today's fast paced world of information, it is easy for the fact that we are at war to get lost in the background of our society. Military families, because of their direct involvement, do not have that option.
Telling the stories of our military families, not only gives them much deserved recognition & a needed sense of "Sharing the burden" , but it can also help bring the realities of such sacrifices back to the forefront of our awareness.
Staying vigilant of these sacrifices is a service to our nation, ourselves and our youth. Our vigilance and commitment to these concepts, brings understanding to the phrase "Freedom is not free".
